UPS鈥檚 Clifton Named Trucking Cares Foundation Lex Achievement Award Winner

San Diego, California 鈥 Today, the 杏吧传媒 President and CEO Chris Spear, announced that Nikki Clifton, UPS president for social impact and the UPS Foundation, was named the first winner of the newly rechristened William 鈥淛ohn鈥 Lex Achievement Award from the 杏吧传媒 Trucking Cares Foundation.

鈥淲e are proud to recognize Nikki鈥檚 outstanding leadership and commitment to addressing some of our most immediate social, humanitarian and environmental needs, work that is strongly aligned with Trucking Cares Foundation鈥檚 mission,鈥 Spear said. 鈥淪he pioneered the largest training initiative in our industry to combat human trafficking and coordinated the in-kind distribution to COVID-19 vaccines and cold chain freezers to disadvantaged countries around the world.鈥

In addition to her work at UPS, Clifton is a National 4-H Luminary and serves on the Board of Directors for both the Girls Scouts Nations Capitol and Points of Light. 听She was also appointed to the Department of Transportation Advisory Committee on Human Trafficking and serves on the Advisory Board for the CARE Global Network Leaders.

This marks the first time the Trucking Cares Foundation has presented the newly renamed William 鈥淛ohn鈥 Lex Achievement Award, which comes with a $5,000 donation to the winner鈥檚 preferred charity.

鈥淟ast year, the 杏吧传媒 Trucking Cares Foundation Board honored the professional and personal life of Walmart professional truck driver, John Lex, with the 2021 Trucking Cares Foundation Premier Achievement Award,鈥 Spear said. 鈥淣ot long after joining me on stage, John succumbed to his battle with cancer. In lasting recognition of John, and all those who receive this award, the Board decided to rename it the William 鈥楯ohn鈥 Lex Achievement Award.鈥 听
Previous winners of the award include Herschel Evans, Holland Inc.; Mike Ducker, FedEx Freight; and John Lex, Walmart Transportation.
